Senior Captain Tom Smith

Hub Captain – Southeast Hub

Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1930. Entered US Air Force in 1950, retired as Lt. Colonel in 1975. Officer Candidate School Class 56B, navigator training at Ellington AFB, Texas. Served as SAC Combat Crew Navigator and Instructor Navigator at March AFB, CA, Bergstrom AFB, TX, and Castle AFB, CA. Served at Phu Cat AB, S. Viet Nam 1969-1970, flying 138 missions in EC-47's, the "Electric Goon". Air Medal with 4 OLC's, Dist. Flying Cross. Retired at SAC Headquarters, Offutt AFB, NE, in June 1975.

Aeronautical rating was Master Navigator.

Education: AA from Modesto Jr College, CA, BS Math (Computer Science minor), Colorado State Univ.

After retirement from the Air Force, went in computer business, software development and partner in a computer store. Have done computer consulting work from 1985 to present.

Married to Shirley since 1957. 4 children, 4 grandchildren. Hobbies are golf, fishing, flight simming.
