Sandi Koprivec, 01-09-04, KFLL-TJIG, 456, BGAS 033, DC-3,s,, Departing from Ft. Lauderdale heading to the beautifull island of San Juan; Little windy 274/20 Mag and few clowds at 5700 ft. Departing at dawn 7 o'clock. Beautifull sightseeing of Ft. Lauderdale from 7000 ft. Nice smooth flight till approximatelly 60 miles South East of South Bimini, when requested 10000ft of altitude to avoid clowds and turbolence at approximatelly 7200 ft. At 900 the day was already born and the Carabean were beautifull. Passing Nassau I have noticed a cruising ship heading to the island and a lot of sailing boats  arround Nassau. There must be a sailing chalenge in course. It is veri enteresting here. Next hollidays I must visit Nassau. Then approximatelly at half way between Cape Santa Maria and Rum Cay We have encontered winds at 277/21Mag and quite relativelly strong turbolence. controlling the fuel quantity, my co-pilot and I realised that because of quite strong headwinds that we had on ocxasions, we have burned much more fuel than we have planed, and also the turbolence was reinforcing and the hostess came to tell us that some of the passengers were concerned abouth all that shakeing. So we decided to land on the beautifull Grand Turk island (MBGT) for refueling and also take our passengers for a ride over the island (I know the local tourist agent). I must also ask for a fast engine check because of the strange sounds and a little oil pressure loosing from the left engine. So Tina (DC-3) landed on MBGT at 1225. I have chaked the fuel tanks, where only 960 pounds of fuel remains... defenatelly we need more fuel to arrive at San Juan by air (don't forget the fact that passengers doesn't like to row on a plane, and... I don't think that the good old Tina know swimming). The passengers were taken on a beautifull tour of the island including a fish based lunch and swiming in cristall waters or big game fishing. Meanwhile the local aircraft mechanic, Matej (my co pilot) and I, realised, that the oil pump on a left engine was gone. I know...we well be late on a scadule, but without one engine... So we arranged that the new pump will be delivered to us with the next supplies ship (that will arrive the nekst day!!!). So I went to the local tourist agent and arranged very good hotel rooms for a resonable price for our passengers and also an entertaining program for the hole day and night. It's quite good to have ex school mates all over the world isn't it? So the next day  at 500 arrived the supplies ship with our pump. Hose - the mechanic, Matej and I arranged to fix THE PROBLEM by 800, than enbarching passengers (refueling was done the night before), and at 900 we left the ground of Grand Turk island, heading to San Juan. The flight at this time was nothing special passengers were all sleeping because of the gran fiesta that was organised by the locals the night before. They were not complaining about our forced stop at Grand Turk, because they reather fly without strong turbolence and they have also visited the island and had an adventure. So the day was clear only few clouds some miles before San Juan, but nothing serious. San Juan had quite an air traffic that I didn't expected, but the ATC did it's work well, so we have landed (at least) at 1111. It was my first time in San Juan and I was astoned by it's beauty. there is also a hidroplane base near. Anyway... the passengers reached the destination in delay but happy and me and my creaw went for a tour over San Juan. It's a pitty we didn't have more time to spend here maybe the next time.
