waiting for the needle to point from 44deg and then turn left to land at
Richmond. I saw kric before that happened,
and was able to land. The approach was
too steep but I stubbornly stayed with it.
Landing OK but my ears hurt.

227.0 then 19 deg to Harpers Ferry
before turning to 83 deg to Frederick.
Had a 30 knot tailwind, but had to dodge some clouds to stay VFR. On arrival at kfdk viz dropped to 4
miles. Was watching bearing from 227.0
and descended to 2,000. Found airport
and turned onto rw 23 downwind.
Landing was good. Would have
been impossible if I hadn't already been here with the DC-3 in fair weather.

I was tempted to land on that 'X'd out runway at Dayton, but thought better of it. ;-o I am reading for the third time, 'Kill Devil Hill' by Harry Combs. This biography of the Wrights is a fine read if you can find a copy.

direct route on each leg but me and Moth wanted to do a little sightseeing on

However thats the problem of real world time zones and real world life.
