Weather has been lousy for most of the last 4 legs. Weather at Birmingham was socked in. Was only using the NDB for
nav. Tried to stay under the weather, but
when I almost ran into a radio tower, I climbed on top to hold over the
NDB. About 20 minutesd later, a hole
opened, so I gave it another try and got under at about 1200. Airport is at 700.

to Alabama before, and I we decided (as an ALIEN) to visit Ripley, then the names
Tishomingo County and Double Springs-Winston leapt off the sectional at me and
just had to be checked out. However, it was Jan's fault that we went all the
way up to Folsom (he's a Johnny Cash fan and kept muttering about wanting to
see the prison). Birmingham was a bit disappointing, though, seeming to lack
the wondrous canals of our own beloved Brum.

quartering tailwind in real weather to Winston Salem. Thank goodness wind decreased to 339/15 to Rwy 33. Flew NDB approach in 1 to 2 mile vis.
My trip to KFFA is cancelled, so I will be here to post legs 18 and up the evening after the leg is actually flown.

Had low scud approaching the coast on this evening flight. But it cleared up and Dare Co airport was
easy to spot. Overflew the airport and
the windsock called for Rwy 17 with light winds. Hard to believe we fly to Kill Devil Hill tomorrow where it all
