002, F1, AC680, 12.64, LANDING SPD 65.35 KIAS, -450 FPM

006, F1, Beechcraft D18S, 12.18, Great to be back for GAAR 2007.  Should be a fun month of flying down under.  Thanks to the organizers for all their work.

007, F1, Globe Swift, 14.08, Time to start, been anticipating the GAAR after a year of bush flying, washed the dust off the swift, preflight and taxied into line. Preparing I had the FTimer instialled,a digital choronograph, and an inflatabile raft, flare gun,and life vest.figure on the short legs to stay below 3000ft unless winds aloft are favorable.bounced the landing as the first leg jitters grabbed hold but no harm done.

012, F1, DC-5, 16.84, Great to be in another GAAR. The fifth for me.

015, F1, Beechcraft D18S, 13.50, Good to get going.  Great scenery!

016, F1, PBY-5aCatalina, 18.04, Mike Stones Catalina

019, F1, AC560A, 12.97, Took off on rwy 8, landed rwy 30.

025, F1, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 20.23, We're off! Flew the trial at nominal cruise setting of 3100 rpm. As the maximum sustained revs for the Pobjoy Niagara is about 3200, I doubt whether the Monospar is capable of better than a Silver over the course. Kept the circuit nice and tight at Badu, made a "hot" approach, followed by a deadstick landing - FUN.

026, F1, CESSNA 172, 17.80, Aircraft had to be held to track.   NDB was operating OK but no joy with the DME.

028, f1, Corsair F4U, 11.13, OK. Why are all these islands so bloody small.

033, F1, DC3, 13.26, Pleasent Flight.

059, F1, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 13.90, Tight turn to land on a coral runway!

068, F1, Miles Messenger, 17.32, Great to get started !

070, F1, DC3, 13.10, Flew real weather with 23kt headwind

071, F1,  Beechcraft D18S, 14.5, and we're off

077, F1, Spartan Executive, 12.58, Here we go again!

081, F1, Douglas DC3, 13.16, My original (and unthought out) plan was to keep my groundspeed as near as possible to that of my test flight. LOL! Makes very little difference on a short leg! This is the result of 23 tries!

088, f1, DC-3, 14.68, Things kinda "hairy".  I'm new to FS9 and after many FS-2002 hours, I've had to relearn some things.  Think this will be fun.

093, F1, Ryan Navion, 13.81, Landing 67.26 kias and -129 fpm

098, F1, DE HAVILLAND DEVON, 13.51, I am not sure if I have already sent this, however I did make a mistake earlier tonight and send one with the wrong GAAR No I used 102

103, F1, Messerschmitt Bf109E-4, 11.52, This had better not set the trend for my landings. Thumpdown!

104, F1, Fairchild C-123B, 12.28, Landing: 67.87 KIAS, -678 FPM

107, F1, Douglas DC-3, 16.12, 2500ft, 31 gallons.

110, F1, PBY5  VR-HDT, 15.87, Off to a reasonable start.  That 3 minute add-on is sending me back for a slide rule and some sharpened pencils (or maybe just use EXCEL?)

122, F1, Beech D-18S, 12.85, Run precisely to real aircraft parameters insofar as engine manifold pressures, RPM, EGT, CHT, oil press & temp are concerned. Flown at 1,500'

123, F1, Piper PA-20 Super Pacer, 18.91, This and all subsequent sectors flown consecutively and ahead of time to allow time to fly my other aircraft entries.  Based on developed flight technique (see Forum if interested), flight times were as expected for this general aviation aircraft with the aircraft's flight characteristics being of great benefit for producing some excellent times.  The real flying now begins with my multi engine entries.

124, F1, yak-3, 13.16, wow, what a weather - you can see the north pole from 3000ft. ;-)

125, F1, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 19.79, YHID Rwy 32, YBAU Rwy 12. Fuel used: 2,9 gal.

126, F1, CAC P51D Mustang, 11.01, This is the new Warwwick Carter P51 It works well in FSX with little mods I cobbled together a 2D cockpit to go with his VC

127, F1, de Havilland DHA-98 Mosquito, 11.93, This is a FS02 or CFS2 model I forget which I put a FS9 CFG & Aifile in and a new cockpit Flies fine Sound file acts up Sometimes it makes idle noises at cruise speed?

128, F1, CAC Boomerang, 12.37, Aeroplane Heaven Payware model I converted it to FSX Flies fine

129, F1, CAC Wirraway, 14.69, Flies Fine in FSX

130, F1, DAP Bristol Beaufighter 21, 11.46, I tried a payware version but the cockpit did strange things so this is a cfs2 model with new gauges Flies fine

136, F1, Linnet, 19.61, It can only go downhill from here, 0.01 off target.

137, F1, Yak-18, 14.18, short hop, transit @ 2,500', full, 71%

139, F1, DHC-4, 13.27, Hard to nail the numbers!

141, F1, DC-3, 14.06, Very dicey crosswind at YBAU was not helpful. Cruised at METO power settings to compensate for my inevitably too-long traffic pattern at Badu Island. Enjoyable trip using the suggested add-on scenery.

144, F1, Beech D-17 Staggerwing, 12.95, This is the simTECH model Really hard to convert to FSX Oroblems with the textures CG is all wrong too will fix during rally Flies fine

145, F1, Cessna Bobcat, 17.46, Tried everything I could thonk of Bobcat won't appear in FSX

146, F1, Grumman G21 Goose, 18.01, Off we go again

148, F1,  PA-22 Tripacer, 14.92, Shaky start, fine tuning the PC and aeroplane (and pilot).

154, F1, DC-5, 13.62, On line with bgas046

161, F1, DC-3, 13.95, The extra three minutes doesn't leave much room for error, and that's a fact!

164, F1, Lockheed P-38L, 7.72, First flight of GAAR 2007

002, F2, AC680, 16.67, LANDING SPD 69.30 KIAS, --156 FPM

004, F2, Ambassador, 15.35, Closer, or luckier!

006, F2, Beechcraft D18S, 15.54, The Beech truly is a beech to fly.  Low speed maneuvering is very sensitive, and my landing at Yam Island was butt ugly, bouncing and swerving and struggling to slow her down.  In the end though I nailed my target time.  Pure dumb luck but I'll take it.  I had prepared for my flight as per Tom Goodrick's post in the pilot's forum, calculating my target time a quarter of the way there, halfway and three quarters of the way.  Helped me manage my speed as I seemed to have a small tailwind.  Thanks for the suggestion Tom, and also for the timer which has made the process a lot easier.  Now on to Bolgu while the engine's still warm.

007, F2, Globe Swift, 19.51, learned a lesson this leg,I was behind time as I approuched the Island the pattern was clear so i called a straight in approuch,it was only a slight tail wind as the mains touched I tapped the brakes and almost nosed it over, firewalled the throttle went around and lost more time than I would have flying the pattern.

009, F2, DC3, 19.00, Short flights are easy, right?

025, F2, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 27.93, More headwinds, so another very tight cicuit and deadstick landing to make up a bit of time.

030, F2, ANSON, 17.57, RW 11 APP

059, F2, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 17.60, Another shortish runway - working hard to get the aircraft slowed down!

071, F2, Beechcraft D18S, 20, Piece o cake

077, F2, Spartan Executive, 16.36, Interesting cross winds.

092, F2, DC3, 20.25, Hairy short final, dodging hills and trees.

093, F2, Ryan Navion, 18.42, Landing 71.59 kias -361 fpm

107, F2, Douglas DC-3, 20.03, 3500ft, 36 gallons

110, F2, PBY5  VR-HDT, 21.61, Still a bit long...  Need to get down a bit quicker.

122, F2, Beech D-18S, 20.41, Run precisely to real aircraft parameters insofar as engine manifold pressures, RPM, EGT, CHT, oil press & temp are concerned. Flown at 2,500'

124, F2, yak-3, 17.02, if i hadn't practiced with flights 6 - 8 (murray island and back) i wouldn't even get close those numbers, believe me. this one was pure luck, too. this will get really difficult with some serious weather...

125, F2, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 27.39, YBAU Rwy 12, YYMI Rwy 29. Fuel used: 4,5 gal.

133, F2, Commander 560, 16.67, I cheched the forum and noted that you only have my F1 I also sent F2 F3  and F4 if you didnot recieve 2,3or 4 Ihave sent them again with F5 and F6

137, F2, Yak-18, 19.13, full,72%, early arrival, 5 minutes to spare, long run in.

141, F2, DC-3, 18.89, Another tough crosswind.

144, F2, Beech D-17 Staggerwing, 17.47, Ted Wells had a lot to do with the conception of the Staggerwing Ac

002, F3, AC680, 20.68, LANDING SPD 70.47 KIAS, -201 FPM

006, F3, Beechcraft D18S, 19.34, Why oh why did I pick the Beech for this rally?  All of these grass and gravel short strips are taking a toll on my landing gear as I haven't been able to accomplish a single landing without at least one bone crunching bounce.  At least my mechanic's happy.  Confirms his long held belief that I don't know what I'm doing.

007, F3, Globe Swift, 24.70, First impressions of this rally were wrong,I thought these short legs would be nothing to Max out and land on time, but even judgeing the pattern altitude and length come onto play as well as winds aloft and dead on navigation.makes those hundreds of a second seem like hours when I realise I'm a little high or fast. after inspecting for dammage after the last landing this flight was ok and look forward to tommorows adventure.

009, F3, DC3, 24.30, Bit longer flight equals better time

023, F3, Cessna182, 32.67, I have no fishing pole and one stinking coconut tree out here !!!

025, F3, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 33.46, Tailwinds - hooray. Got to Boigu in enough time to make a respectable circuit for once.

030, F3, ANSON, 22.50, Fine flight easy circuit and approach

033, F3, DC3, 24.83, Good Flight, finding air strip short, having to land at slow speed's.

036, F3, DC-3 BEA, 24.40, Spot On!!

065, F3, Ryan Navion, 27.29, I almost totally nailed this one should have accelerated a bit longer down the runway but I was afraid I'd run off the end!

068, F3, Miles Messenger, 30.61, I blame the wind

088, f3, DC-3, 22.83, Runways getting shorter!  Gonna need a grappling hook hanging from tail before long to arrest landings!

093, F3, Ryan Navion, 23.81, Landing 71.98 kias -116 fpm

103, F3, Messerschmitt Bf109E-4, 22.07, Nice smooth flight all the way, very happy!

137, F3, Yak-18, 24.59, full,71%,3,000', Leonid was spot on, Proppy will demonstrate new kettle concepts next days.

139, F3, DHC-4, 23.64, Distance to go divided by time remaining minus 2.5 minutes = O'Gawd where did that spare 1.5 minutes go!

141, F3, DC-3, 23.86, At last, surface winds aligned with the runway. I wish I could brag on the time but luck was a part of it.

154, F3, DC-5, 24.38, On line with bgas046

155, F3, De Havilland DHC4 'Caribou', 26.08, Lost avionics and comms on finals into Boigu.  Needed the rest days to effect repairs before "legging" it to Saibai Island.

155, F3, De Havilland DHC4 'Caribou', 26.08, Lost avionics and comms on finals into Boigu. Needed the rest days to effect repairs before "legging it" to Saibai Island. Unloaded and pre-positioned the first of the fuel drops (44 gal drums) for the following 'Halifax' flight. Regular fuel supply is unreliable in these remote communities and some tight fuel planning is required for the 'Halifax' with a fuel consumption planning figure of 320 gal / hr. I also need to ensure the 'Halifax' is as light as possible on arrival and departure from YMUI otherwise I will be meeting the 'great (aircraft) maker' sooner than expected.

002, F4, AC680, 11.81, LANDING SPD 65.65 KIAS, -136 FPM

006, F4, Beechcraft D18S, 10.69, That landing wasn't so bad - not quite a bone crunching bounce, more like a teeth clacking hop.  Getting better.

007, F4, Globe Swift, 13.86, This flight it is time for 007 to break out the Q branch top secret equipment, reached in the closet and found the old E6-B calculator, after 40+years of storage in the samsonite brief case, the only part totally rusted was the operators brain!luckly the manuel was still there.I hope this will give me some solid airspeed numbers for winds so i end up closer than the 3-6 miles off course.

015, F4, Beechcraft D18S, 10.50, Gotta remember to take a pic one of these times.

025, F4, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 17.29, 3.2 gallons

025, F4, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 17.29, A bit like flying a (very slow) turboprop - up to cruise height (3500ft) and started down again almost immediately. Lined up for a straight-in landing (the windsock was clearly visible). A minute early due to drifting right of track and cutting the corner onto finals.

030, F4, ANSON, 12.48, One day oh one day i will get it bang on.

035, F4, DC3, 12.54, Nearly a minute early. Heck!

046, F4, Douglas DC-3, 13.05, Flight at 1500ft, straight in approach at destination

082, F4, C47, 14.00, Who planted that tree at the end of the runway!!!

088, F4, DC-3, 12.70, Needed whole runway to get off at YBOI.  Managed to have a little to spare landing at YSII.  I was very low on final!  Glad no sailboats around the approach lane.

093, F4, Ryan Navion, 13.32, Landing 91.26 kias -223 fpm

104, F4, Fairchild C-123B, 11.56, Landing: XXX KIAS, XX FPM

105, F4, AC680 MAC VC, 11.31, Short straight in flight had to excersise speed control not to miss the mark

107, F4, Douglas DC-3, 12.89, 22 gallons

108, F4, Douglas R4D-6, 12.90, Have to seriously watch landing speed on these short runways

110, F4, PBY5 VR-HDT, 15.23, Not much wiggle time on such a short flight!

112, F4, B-25 Mitchell, 14.68, Came in too steep and had to go around.

122, F4, Beech D-18s, 13.36, All I can say is "Thank heavens for autopilots!"

137, F4, Yak-18, 13.42, Moderate winds enroute,Full,71%,3000ft.

Comments for Flight 5

002, F5, AC680, 34.14, LANDING SPD 72.00 KIAS, -316 FPM

006, F5, Beechcraft D18S, 33.36, Having read some of the pilots' comments about Murray Island, I flew the leg a bit fast, but I needed the extra time to line up and touch down shallow and sloooow.  Even so it was close.  That's a tall cliff off the end of the runway!

007, F5, Globe Swift, 40.48, I wonder if the planners have a DC-3 hauling in water to the islands, the summer sun dehydrates me and I'm sure the fresh water supply is limited on the smaller spits of sand. starting to figure this aircraft out, can't man-handle it around like a bever will sometimes forgive you, watch the cross-winds,wheel landings-not three point.

019, F5, AC560A, 36.27, Almost nailed it.

023, F5, Cessna182, 45.94, I seem to be tighting my times up a little

025, F5, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 57.70, 9.7 gallons.

028, F5, Corsair F4U, 30.63, Hope nobody really needs the wind sock. I just attached it firmly to my right wing tip. Sheet metal work required.

030, F5, ANSON, 37.07, Damn

046, F5, Douglas DC-3, 40.38, Flown at 3500ft, straight in approach, and short field landing at destination

059, F5, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 37.19, Nice flight!  Timing was off but hope to do better along the way!

066, F5, Douglas DC-6, 31.54, They oughta put an arrestor hook on these things!

082, F5, C47, 39.73, Think I had a tail wind. Very short runway at Murray. Luckly my C47 was made for this kind of strip. Nothing like a bit of cross-country driving upon landing.  Main think is I landed. Think I'll give the girl a once over before departing for coconut island.

088, F5, DC-3, 41.10, Nice little island.  Interesting airstrip.

090, F5, DC-3, 43.47, Been pretty lucky so far finding these APs.  I live in dread of not finding one.

093, F5, Ryan Navion, 39.12, Landing 67.82 kias -266 fpm

098, F5, Devon, 38.43, I think I am going too fast, need to slow down. The approach screen shot make it a lot easier.

103, F5, Messerschmitt Bf109E-4, 00, Crashed on landing, have no time to repair plane and re-fly before the close of entry for this leg, therefore I withdraw from the Rally.

104, F5, Fairchild C-123B, 35.32, Landing: 78.14 KIAS, -211 FPM

105, F5, AC680 MAC VC, 35.34, Those cliff look menacing on the approach, had to break hard not to overrun the rwy.

107, F5, Douglas DC-3, 39.41, 68 gallons

108, F5, Douglas R4D-6, 36.00, Well ahead of estimated times....don't know why

110, F5, PBY5 VR-HDT, 44.07, Those on the ground were amazed to see a Catalina doing slow S's on the approach and then not braking until the very last second.

112, F5, B-25 Mitchell, 33.53, Perfect straight in approach

122, F5, Beech D-18s, 36.83, The first time I've actually had to fly this kite. Approach was difficult, requiring a precise touch and an almost dead-stick landing. Made it though.

124, F5, yak-3, 36.62, yeah, that went smoothly

137, F5, Yak-18, 41.10, No flak barrage on arrival, the Pipkin type must be lagging behind,Full,72%,3.000ft

141, F5, DC-3, 40.40, Great landing site.

154, F5, DC-5, 39.96, 85 gal for YBOI-YSII-YMOI Only ndb & dme,  no FSNAV or GPS  best time ever only .02 min late

160, F5, Curtiss-Wright AT32 Condor, 47.83, Now realize Condor was not best choice for flight - no flaps + short strips + lack of pilot skill = very nervous landings!

Comments for Flight 6

001, F6, Cessna Bobcat, 28.62, Sure looks different with the Torres Strait Scenery.

002, F6, AC680, 23.46, LANDING SPD 68.30 KIAS, -283 FPM

005, F6, Beech Twin Bonanza, 22.62, Thought the circle around for Rwy 10 approach would kill me...can't believe my time on this one!

006, F6, Beechcraft D18S, 21.71, One more short runway and landings should get a lot easier.  A 4,000' runway now seems luxuriously long.  And asphalt!  Most of the remaining sectors have asphalt runways!  You're spoiling us GAAR.

007, F6, Globe Swift, 26.58, Just as I get feeling good about my landings,I try to "grease one in" to impress some of the pilots waiting to take off and bounced hard an almost ground looped the little beast, the red face was just sunburn...

012, F6, DC-5, 27.60, Landing on an aircraft carrier? ... OK.

015, F6, Beechcraft D18S, 23.11, Put the Lime in the Cocconut and Relax on the Beech!!!

019, F6, AC560A, 25.08, entered pattern on downwind for rwy 9.

025, F6, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 37.88, Fuel 6.9 gallons.

028, F6, Corsair F_4U, 21.36, What a lovely bunch of coconuts. Watched my time like a hawk, performed a nice side slip onto the runway and still came up short on timing.

030, F6, ANSON, 25.30, MMMMMM

046, F6, Douglas DC-3, 27.56, Flown at 4500ft. Left hand pattern at destination

047, F6, DC3, 29.55, First send F6 pirep was wrong, this one is the right one. Thanks

059, F6, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 25.84, Tricky landing but made it ok!

065, F6, Ryan Navion, 30.61, Successful crash land!! No crash reported in FS. Wingtip overhangs runway. Time barely missed by 0.01! What Luck!

066, F6, Douglas DC-6, 21.50, Ze wodka kettles zey did explodes slightenly prematurely but et least i fount ze ladiez undiez albeit after landink!

082, F6, C47, 26.77, nice and calm.

090, F6, DC-3, 25.27, Thanks for the bright Blue area around the Is.  Sure helps to find the air strip.

093, F6, Ryan Navion, 25.99, Landing 65.03 kias -273 fpm

104, F6, Fairchild C-123B, 22.82, Landing: 64.95 KIAS, -474 FPM

107, F6, Douglas DC-3, 26.06, Fuel 53 gallons

110, F6, PBY-5  VR-HDT, 29.86, Thought I had some seconds in hand at beginning of descent, but still managed to loose too time on the approach

122, F6, Beech D-18s, 24.06, Thank you, auto-pilot!

135, F6, DHC-4, 25.54, Long enough leg to get the timing close but still had to rush the base & finals.  I hate it when you hear the overstress sound as your flaps extend above V flap max but love the reverse pitch of the Caribou.

136, F6, G-B Linnet, 39.10, Drat, on approach I got fixated on the target time being 39.10. It was only when the clock stopped that I noticed that it was actually 39.15!

137, 6, Yak-18, 27.81, on-line with an armada of fellow aviators (sorry they are kapitalistni). No fear of panzerfausts since the Pipkin type left the rally. Very sorry to hear. Full,72%.3,000'

161, F6, DC-3, 26.29, These short runways really tax the capability of this huge airplane - the locals are quite impressed with its size.  Send a bill for the runway lights to the company headquarters, as I'm sure they will be glad to send a virtual check for the new bulbs.

Comments for Flight 7

002, F7, AC680, 9.28, LANDING SPD 66.17 KIAS, -269 FPM

004, F7, Airspeed Ambassador, 8.70, Hard work these short ones.

006, F7, Beechcraft D18S, 9.10, Glad these short runways are done.  Bet the Rally has other surprises in store for us though.

007, F7, Globe Swift, 9.73, It will take a few more days of this sun to thaw out from the Alaska Bush, but it sure feels good. the rumors are starting that a Capt.Zlog has something other than water in those bottles,a vodka martini might be possible after all and with my landings it would be shaken and hopefully not stirred.(vermouth is not a problem I have a photo of a bottle that i can wave over the glass)

010, F7, DH104, 9.71, Told my batman(Charleycam)to deploy the spoilers instead he pushed the throttle levers full fwd.

019, F7, AC560A, 9.24, Had to refile this flight cause it didn't go thru the first time.

021, F7, DC3, 10.18, Some ashpalt in the middle of a lagoon! With a crosswind approach! Great fun!

025, F7, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 13.93, Fuel 2.7 gallons

028, F7, Corsair F_4U, 8.37, Gear up, Gear down and I came up short time again. I am getting closer but getting it all to come together at the same time is not as simple as it sounds.

030, F7, ANSON, 9.60, Worse than longer legs

036, F7, DC-3, 10.03, Ammended result, read target times from column 36 not pilot ID 36 LOL

046, F7, Douglas DC-3, 9.54, Flown at 1200ft, straight in approach, and short field landing!

059, F7, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 9.23, Short hop and hard to judge but got it!  Tight landing

064, F7, DC3, 9.30, CORRECTED ENTRY

065, F7, Ryan Navion, 11.90, Another crash land as I was rushing! Not as close as before though.

066, F7, Douglas DC-6, 8.55, No neet fur ze undiez diz time... schnepp!

082, F7, C47, 10.95, I think this was the hardest flight yet, found it really tight to get down and on final.

088, F7, DC-3, 12.37, Ain't much island here except for the runway!

093, F7, Ryan Navion, 9.62, Landing 65.33 kias -123 fpm

104, F7, Fairchild C-123B, 9.57, Landing: 70.50 KIAS, -220 FPM

105, F7, AC680 MAC VC, 9.43, Short hops like this one throws your time out of kilter.....pprrr...ppufff!

107, F7, Douglas DC-3, 10.81, Fuel 20 gallons

108, F7, Lockheed P-38L, 6.23, Flt 7

110, F7, PBY-5  VR-HDT, 10.83, First two flights were way, way over time.  Third time used a hot rod descent and careful braking.  Yee Hawwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!

122, F7, Beech D-18s, 8.43, Not real world stuff, surely?

124, F7, yak-3, 9.90, it's not that easy. I almost broke off a wing and strayed off the runway in a wild attempt to hit the right time...have to check the yak before I will continue.

131, F7, deHavilland DH-88 Comet, 8.71, Wow, short legs are harder to nail the time than the longer ones...Yuch!!! Never got the plane trimmed completely before needing to decend for the landing. Great challenge.

135, F7, DHC-4, 9.12, Barely time to admire the scenery as I usually spend 10 minutes on Finals!

137, 7, Yak-18, 10.28, low flight profile, YWBS full of kettle lovers in admiration of Proppy's last demo. Full,69%,1.700'

160, F7, Curtiss-Wright AT32 Condor, 14.22, Two attempts at landing as pilot bottled it on first try!

161, F7, DC-3, 9.98, Gear up . . . gear down!  Not enough time to drink a coffee, much less turn off the "No Smoking" sign!

164, F7, Lockheed P-38L, 6.23, Flt 7 Think I filed under 108 instead of 164 so I refiled

076, F7, Beechcraft D18S, 8.56,

001, F8, Cessna Bobcat, 20.12, Nailed it!

002, F8, AC680, 16.49, LANDING SPD 74.67 KIAS, -191 FPM

006, F8, Beechcraft D18S, 15.40, Time to make some repairs and get a bit of rest before the long flight to Gove.

007, F8, Globe Swift, 19.61, Not to thrilled at the prospect of havind to ditch, just spotted a shark that looked big enough I DON'T think my Rubber Raft would stop it if it wanted a lunch! The E6-b is helping the navigation and speed, but my judging the pattern length & height is hurting my times at first reading I thought this would be easy, now I know a slower aiecraft may have been a better choice, that Zepplin pilot just might have the winner(at least good shade)

009, F8, DC3, 17.90, I am finding these short flights very difficult. I hope to improve later. Yeah, right!

010, F8, DH104, 19.12, Better timing this flight,Charleycam's out ratting.

015, F8, Beechcraft D18S, 15.17, Thanks for all the support back in the states.  The Beech is running fine and we'll contact you all when we reach civilization.

021, F8, DC3, 19.02, Elected to run Downwind right for RW08 and take the crosswind component - given my time I'm glad I took that choice!

025, F8, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 26.32, Fuel 4.8 gallons. 0.01 minutes late!

028, F8, Corsair F_4U, 15.31, Back on Horn Island. Dejavu wasnt I just here. Came in real hot and fast and good thing it wasnt a short runway cause I used it all.

030, F8, ANSON, 17.60, Nailed

037, F8, DC-3, 20.37, Had to take time to replace brakes while down at Warraber Island. Murray Island just about finished off the ones we started out with!!         We worked all night the first night and through the day the next day but got 'er done then had a nice break before heading out for Horn Island tommorow. Having fun so far~~!!

046, F8, Douglas DC-3, 18.54, Flown at 2500ft, straight in approach at destination

059, F8, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 16.60, Got the time wrong on this but made half decent landing despite the crosswind.

065, F8, Ryan Navion, 21.59, Routine finally!

066, F8, Douglas DC-6, 8.31, Finally a runway that isnt reminiscant of a garden path! :D

082, F8, C47, 20.75, At last a proper runway with lights and everything. I think thats why I was nearly 2 mins over. Spent to much time setting up for a proper approach. Think I'm going to have to tighten everything before the "big push" to Gove.

090, F8, DC-3, 17.88, Nice to have a NDB to home in on.

093, F8, Ryan Navion, 18.77, Landing 62.66 kias -60 fpm

104, F8, Fairchild C-123B, 17.88, Landing: 68.76 KIAS, -162 FPM

105, F8, AC680 MAC VC, 17.89, Trying to maintain that margin of error on the low side.... Back to YHID for a good cold one....Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!....Ahhh!

107, F8, Douglas DC-3, 18.69, Fuel 36 gallons.

110, F8, PBY-5  VR-HDT, 20.13, This time too much hot rod descent!

122, F8, Beech D-18s, 18.56, Back at Horn Island, thankfully. All those short hops can be tiring on a soul. Now to rest up for the big jump across the Gulf!

124, F8, yak-3, 17.86, Savely back at Horn Island. And the times getting better again too. I'm looking forward to my hotel room at TI. I'm tired of camping under tropical conditions...

131, F8, deHavilland DH-88 Comet, 15.60, Another challenging leg for me to nail the time on. Hopefully will be better heading across the sound. :>)

133, F8, Commander 560, 17.75, great stuff very enjoyable if like getting taxed to the max going to have to by a yoke

135, F8, DHC-4, 18.32, Time to worry about traffic and find a place in the stack.

137, 8, Yak-18, 19.35, shifting winds, not in line with forecast!

160, F8, Curtiss-Wright AT32 Condor, 18.00, Back at Horn. A much needed chance to refuel (14% left in tanks) and give the brakes a good overhaul (getting hammered with these short fields) before heading over the gulf.

161, F8, DC-3, 18.43, Nice to have a long enough runway - landing on aircraft-carrier sized postage stamp airports was getting hard on tires and brakes, not to mention passengers.

Comments for Flight 9

001, F9, Cessna Bobcat, 149.94, Cruise at 8500' used about 3/4 of fuel capacity.  Had to reduce speed enroute due to tailwinds and extend downwind.

002, F9, AC680, 119.17, LANDING SPD 65.03 KIAS, -103 FPM

006, F9, Beechcraft D18S, 112.73, This being the longest flight, I calculated what my clock time should be every ten nm to monitor progress.  After that it was just a matter of timing brake applications on the luxuriously long runway.

007, F9, Globe Swift, 139.65, Ready for the long haul, not much when compared to some of past years, but I walk better than I swim. going to climb up to 7000ft so if I have any trouble they will have a little longer to hear me yelling out position and mayday!! after looking at the Ftimer I feel good about the flight, not perfect but good.

009, F9, DC3, 139.25, Now that was a lot better! Pleased with that time.

012, F9, DC-5, 132.28, long time without navaids, but all went well. Only a few degrees of course.

015, F9, Beechcraft D18S, 107.16, A lot of water fellas....weather was good though.  Over half way now!!!!

019, F9, AC560A, 128.18, Long trip, nothing but water, started at 4500' but had to drop down to 2500' as the winds came more from the west.

021, F9, DC3, 140.58, Lots of speed adjustments enroute to try to meke the time, misread the METAR and was planning for RW13 until five miles out, so 30 seconds early was a stroke of luck rather than good calculation!

023, F9, Cessna182, 161.58, Have to remember to bring a larger coffee can.

024, F9, Douglas DC-3, 139.03, Sorry Bill forgot the "0" in the last report

025, F9, GA Monospar ST25, 201.58, Fuel 36.2 gallons.

026, F9, CESSNA 172, 171.77, The most difficult flight yet encountered, mainly due to turbulence and an unstable aircraft.   Glad its finished

028, F9, Corsair F_4U, 111.63, Im good on the long legs. This old bird is hard to keep in check. Keeps wanting to go fast. This landing was perfect to, if there had been an ILS approach I would have aced it.

030, F9, ANSON, 128.93, Cant understand it.Arrived early enough to make coffee in the hold

035, F9, DC-3, 138.58, Report for Les Smith

036, F9, DC-3, 136.99, Ammended result, read target times from column 36 not pilot ID 36 LOL

046, F9, Douglas DC-3, 138.85, Flown at 4500ft - Left hand pattern at destination

047, F9, DC3, 144.20, Sorry, again a mistake in the first F9, I have counted the hours and then minutes.

052, F9, DC-3, 135.65, Cruise at 8500' used 208 gal of fuel.  Variable winds made it a bit tricky - RW 13 this flight - RW 31 for gaar001  Neither one was an excellent choice.

059, F9, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 128.71, Nice takeoff from Horn and a climbing left turn to settle at 6000 feet.   Lost the port engine enroute but managed a re-start and continued at 4000 feet, to a normal landing at Gove with a fair time considering the problem.   Out over the water, not a good time to lose an engine!

061, F9, Globe Swift GC-1B, 134.09, Long Flight

066, F9, Douglas DC-6, 110.05, YAHOOOOO!!!!... FIRST EVER EXACT TIME!!! W00T W00T W00T!!!

068, F9, Miles Messenger, 179.02, Wasn't looking forward to this long leg, but thanks to lucky navigation, managed to get down OK by my standards.

071, f9, Beechcraft D18S, 100, Happy Valentines day all

073, F9, Short S-17, 240, Wow that was a long flight! I doubt my time will be to good with that one.

076, F9, Beechcraft D18S, 118.21, FSX - There's a couple of autogen trees growing in the touchdown zone of runway 31 @ YPGV!!!!

077, F9, Spartan Executive, 122.48, Best yet. Following Tom's advice I had time for 2 circuits to get things right before landing.  Interesting to see wind farms.

078, F9, Dornier Do27 B1, 217.22, Wow!! That was a long one!!!

082, F9, C47, 140.31, Nice flight, a few cross winds, thank god for a Sperry. Only 2.5 mins early. A few days off now to relax.

088, F9, DC-3, 140.92, Long overwater flight...no scenery!  Landed all OK and shut down.

090, F9, DC-3, 134.48, Longer Flight.  Glad they had NDB.  I live in fear of not being able to find the AP.

092, F9, DC3, 152.49, Strange winds.... coming from everywhere

093, F9, Ryan Navion, 133.40, Landing 61.02 kias -176 fpm

104, F9, Fairchild C-123B, 124.25, Landing: 70.41 KIAS, -149 FPM

105, F9, AC680 MAC VC, 117.78, Heavy work schedule almost derailed my participation in the rally. I belive this one is my best time so far.

106, F9, Cessna 195, 142.19, A nice relaxing flight.

107, F9, Douglas DC-3, 139.20, Fuel 231 gallons. After the mad panic of the shorter legs, this was a comparative doddle. Flew out with tail winds at 8500ft, and then flew a few circuits of the holding pattern at the VOR until dropping into the circuit (0.43 minutes late, but the percentage wasn't worth worrying about).

110, F9, PBY5  VR-HDT, 155.71, Lot of water and a few clouds.  But this must have been the slowest approach ever made.  Gear down, floats down, Capt Zlogg's underwear hanging out on the radio antenna, anchor from Great Motherland swinging in the breeze...  Just at stall speed forever and then braking at the very last second.  Finished with the nose hanging over the tarmac!

122, F9, Beech D18, 117.86, Best leg yet as far as actual flight transit. In fact, probably too good, seeing as I arrived 5 minutes earlier than planned for. Still, it's nice to know that flight planning isn't a failed subject as far as I'm concerned.

124, F9, yak-3, 127.61, Yiipeee - made it! Phew! At first i was very worried that i would never make it to Gove. But thanks to great tailwinds at FL10 i arrived almost 20 minutes early with fuel for 20 more minutes. So i had the time for a little sightseeing! cool!

131, F9, deHavilland DH-88 Comet, 108.28, A challenge to nail the long leg too, by the halfway point I was way behind my time, so I had to gun it to make up the difference, managed to get it quite close. Long flight to do without an autopilot, hand on the stick the whole way pretty much (flying through weather fronts are fun :>) ). Great fun though, thanks.

135, F9, DHC-4, 133.28, Took this at 10,000 ft, with winds up the rear.  Interesting trying to slow the descent down to drag the time out but best time yet as I had plenty of time to think it through.

137, F9, Yak-18, 141.42, dawn take off, several windshifts enroute, 8/8 clouds 5.000 ft. halfway. 7 minutes loiter, barn door deployed, gear down and sailed in within reasonable limit. Full,71%,6.500'

139, F9, DHC-4, 133.28, Flew at 10,000 ft. Interesting WX. Had to fly 219M to get back on course of 247 then way to early with 30k assist so a long down wind and base,

142, F9, Pembroke, 153.99, A near thing, just 10 gallons left  My canine co-pilot was not amused.

143, F9, Luscombe 8, 252.39, Strange how engines go into auto-rough over a long stretch of water.

150, F9, DC3 (Delta Airlines), 129.50, Long water flight - makes you wish you had a floatplane!

156, F9, Handley-Page 'Halifax', 117.16, Arrived over Gove early as planned with time to fly a full circuit. Couldn't 'nail' the 100% result - short by 0.01 of a second against my target time.  As they say:"You don't win silver, you lose gold."  As for me, I'm just happy to be flying and challenging myself.

160, F9, Curtiss-Wright AT32 Condor, 147.25, Sheesh!

009, F10, DC3, 33.41, Nearly....

019, F10, AC560A, 30.50, Bad visibility on this flight, made straight in to rwy 28 with a long landing roll to maximize my time.

021, F10, DC3, 33.90, Lost one engine at 4 nm final due fuel starvation - that'll teach me to pay more attention!

025, F10, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 47.88, Fuel 8.2 gallons

028, F10, Corsair F_4U, 25.32, Im starting to feel like the guy who fell off the roof of a tall building. At every floor all he said was So far so good. Well, so far so good.

046, F10, Douglas DC-3, 33.53, Flown at 4500ft, straight in approach at destination!

077, F10, Spartan Executive, 30.03, Very hazy conditions and an unfriendly x-wind made life interesting.

093, F10, Ryan Navion, 32.47, Landing 78.67 kias -223 fpm

105, F10, AC680 MAC VC, 28.11, Uneventful leg very straight in approach.

107, F10, Douglas DC-3, 32.69, Fuel - 552 gallons. A bit murky at 4500ft but the VOR/DME kept us on track to within sight of YELD.

122, F10, Beech D-18, 31.10, You win some, you lose some. This one I lost some.

131, F10, deHavilland DH-88 Comet, 26.57, SCARY LANDING!!!! Bleed off way to much speed on the approach, stalled her out, she started to decend at 4000 f/m (not great when you are only 700 feet above the ground), managed to save her from certain death with less than 100 feet in altitude to spare. Climbed to about 500 feet, and brought her in with a great time to boot. Now to go and change my shorts!!! ;>)

132, F10, de Havilland DH104, 31.01, Sorry, I'm not sure if I had already submitted this flight's report. If this is a duplicate, please ignore this one. Thank you

135, F10, DHC-4, 31.90, Starting to get the hang of this but the short legs mean straight-in approaches.

136, F10, G-B Linnet, 49.09, Best score yet.

141, F10, DC-3, 33.28, That 10 mi viz seemed more like 5 or less to me.

161, F10, DC-3, 32.82, Honest time!  Exactly on schedule!  Probably couldn't do it again, either.

005, F11, Beech Twin Bonanza, 16.89, Report resubmitted as I forgot the letter F in the 2nd field....sorry,

007, F11, Globe Swift, 19.41, These short routes,as predicted, are tough but it mkes me fell good just to get within a minute of time.can tell we are back on the main land,as the heat and humitity are increaseing, will have to start carrying less fuel to help take off distance. The Swift just keeps giving me lessons on crosswind proceder I will be better on the rudder when this rally is over. no auto-cornation as useing it usually finds me all over the runway trying to keep the nose and tail from switching ends. Iwonder if I should have went with my first aircraft i trialed, a navy kingfisher it was a lot more dociel but not as pretty to look at.

009, F11, DC3, 19.24, Close again, but not close enough

028, F11, Corsair F_4U, 14.73, Well, so far so good.

052, F11, DC-3, 21.03, arrgh!  Flew 250 to intercept GV 271 OB  began descent at 105nm dme  Couldn't see airport through the haze- used FS NAV to see I was north of course. turned to 240 and short final for RW29  1.73min late! Thanks to the weather maestro for making it a challenge.

059, F11, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 19.73, Difficult crosswinds on landing after a tight final turn

071, F11, Beechcraft D18S, 26, I'd like to comment on the visibility if there was any.

077, F11, Spartan Executive, 17.51, Had trouble fine tuning the approach due to x-wind.

082, F11, C47, 23.80, lost lots of time. thought I had a strong head wind, then realised my gear was still down.!!! Must have been the trees from Elcho.

085, F11, deHavilland DHC-2 Beaver, 23.81, The wee Beaver had a tough time in these weather conditions.

088, F11, DC-3, 19.93, Hazy, hazy.  Landed runway 29 at YMGB although wind more favorable for runway 11.  Otherwise I'd have tacked on another minute or two to the approach!

105, F11, AC680 MAC VC, 17.14, The muggy weather an low vis made it a tad bit harder to go around for the landing on Rwy 11 but with nailed close.

107, F11, Douglas DC-3, 19.53, Fuel 36 gallons. The taller of the 2 "Gates Pines" * on late finals to YMGB/11 is now a couple of feet shorter. *I've long assumed that this sort of tree is personally positioned by Bill Gates just to annoy pilots.

110, F11, PBY5  VR-HDT, 21.53, Another short flight and another hot rod approach to come anywhere close to time.

122, F11, Beech D-18, 17.92, Not quite so bad on this one.

131, F11, deHavilland DH-88 Comet, 15.34, What is it with these short legs!!! Tough to nail the time on this, did the leg 5 times and this was the best I could do. Gotta love the challenge though. Not much visibility either, about 5nm and an afternoon sun to boot. Oh well.

135, F11, DHC-4, 18.40, Had to drink all the cabernet sauvignon before I landed at the Mission!

002, F12, AC680, 17.71, LANDING SPD 70.91 KIAS -206 FPM

004, F12, Airspeed Ambassador, 15.83, Each of the last 2 flights have taken 0.11 more than the previous one. Obviously need to wake up the sloppy navigator.

009, F12, DC3, 18.76, Too long this time, Oh well.....

021, F12, DC3, 18.80, Nice long runway let me extend the rollout a little to match the time!

025, F12, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 29.08, Fuel 5.6 gallons. Knew this would be a bad leg for the Monospar, but 3 minutes over is better than I hoped!

028, F12, Corsair F_4U, 18.27, The haze got to me. Blew right by the runway before I even knew it was there. Had to do a missed approach and came around for a second try. Question for all though, is it alright to always land beside the runway. Except for one landing I dont think Ive actually used the runway on most of the landings.

046, F12, Douglas DC-3, 19.58, Flown at 2500ft, left hand pattern at destination. Did all the maths I could, but was pretty hard to fetch the scheduled flight time ;-)

059, F12, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 19.04, Last three flights had low visibility.   Tough time using instruments without flying the full procedure - but a good challenge!

077, F12, Spartan Executive, 16.90, Set up a good approach and nearly made the exact time, but as Tom says there is a lot of luck in these times.

088, F12, DC-3, 19.32, The haze is getting thicker!  Landed OK and getting primed for next leg.

093, F12, Ryan Navion, 19.09, Landing 65.02 kias -126 fpm

104, F12, Fairchild C-123B, 17.46, Landing: 74.98 KIAS, -158 FPM

105, F12, AC680 MAC VC, 16.43, one more down and five more to Darwin

107, F12, Douglas DC-3, 19.96, Fuel 37 gallons. Another desperate flight, with contrary winds for takeoff, landing and in between! Will refuel here for the remaining legs.

110, F12, PBY5  VR-HDT, 20.58, Stayed at 1000' and enjoyed the scenery!

131, F12, deHavilland DH-88 Comet, 15.04, Just about nailed it on my first try. Had a pretty decent landing also. Might be getting better at this flying thing. (LOL).

135, F12, DHC-4, 18.22, Hardly enough time to get the screw top off the claret and then back on again!

136, F12, G-B Linnet, 26.74, Same score as last two legs - but still not hit the magic one.

137, 12, Yak-18, 18.62, Full,71 pct,3000ft

137, F12, Yak-18, 19.25, some difficulty to get it right onto the rwy in the stipulated time.

002, F13, AC680, 22.35, LANDING SPD 65.84 KIAS -123 FPM

004, F13, Airspeed Ambassador, 21.47, Nearly got caught out with a downwind landing.

006, F13, Beechcraft D18S, 21.65, Another gravel runway!  Landing was good though, slow and shallow.

007, F13, Globe Swift, 25.75, A great flight, just lucky, but when you keep looking at the timer looking at the runway at the timer and I found myself holding my breath cause it was going to be close to perfect time that you realise how much fun these rally,s are.

009, F13, DC3, 25.30, Arived early. Again!

025, F13, GA Monospar ST25, 37.45, Fuel 6.2 gallons. To get anyway near the target time for YGBI rwy 10 involved a circuit tight enough to qualify as "crazy flying". <g>

026, F13, CESSNA 172, 31.80, This was one turbulent ride!!!!

028, F13, Corsair F_4U, 19.56, A nice quiet flight. Hope there is enough fuel for the final legs. I know we were told there was not going to be a lot of fuel out here but this big gas guzzler wont run on air.

046, F13, Douglas DC-3, 26.13, Flown 2500ft - Left hand pattern at destination

082, F13, C47, 26.50, Thought this was my best time only 13 seconds off. Wait till my next report. Amazing time......

085, F13, De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, 31.73, A nice and easy flight....

088, F13, DC-3, 26.43, Good flight.  Lots of haze getting worse.  Or so it seems.

093, F13, Ryan Navion, 25.24, Landing 62.68 kias -219 fpm

101, F13, Hawker Sea Hurricane Ib, 23.52, Having real trouble with the crosswinds on these landings. Not good. Down in one piece, but not pretty.

104, F13, Fairchild C-123B, 22.96, Landing: 77.02 KIAS, -157 FPM

105, F13, AC680 MAC VC, 22.53, four more to Darwin

107, F13, Douglas DC-3, 25.43, Fuel 46 gallons.

110, F13, PBY5  VR-HDT, 28.48, I think I'm finally getting the hang of this!  Best overall flight thus far, nice climb, cruise, and descent.  Landing roll was extended simply to get time close.  A normal roll would have put me about 0.30 minutes sooner.

002, F14, AC680, 23.78, LANDING SPD 68.27 KIAS -246 FPM

004, F14, Airspeed Ambassador, 22.49, Almost lined up on the wrong airfield before scrambling off to the right one.

006, F14, Beechcraft D18S, 22.31, Another smooth landing despite the sand surface.  Good thing the runway was long.

007, F14, Globe Swift, 28.79, starting to judge patterns better resulting in better times, but only 3 flights left, maybe a last minute run of good scores will put me into the gold .

009, F14, DC3, 27.30, Not easy this GAAR. Next one is worse!

015, F14, Beechcraft D18s, 23.58, Ok......I'll take a pic on the last leg...  Just to busy right now serving the drinks!!

025, F14, GA Monospar ST25, 39.01, Fuel 5.7 gallons. Much more relaxed flight than F13, with a bit of weaving on the approach to lose time.

028, F14, Corsair F_4U, 21.42, As usual we are almost at the end of the rally and I am finally  starting to get the timing down.

030, F14, ANSON, 25.50, Internet downage reported in forum

046, F14, Douglas DC-3, 27.52, Flown at 2500ft - Straight In approach at destination

082, F14, C47, 27.56, WOW 4 seconds off, If only I could keep this up. But I don't think so.  Having a nice white strip to aim at helped.

093, F14, Ryan Navion, 26.74, Landing 61.2 kias -152 fpm

101, F14, Hawker Sea Hurricane Ib, 23.89, You'd think with all these takeoffs and landings I'd be getting better at flying the Hurricane, but no. So frustrating. Any sort of crosswind around 10 knots and I really have to watch what I'm doing. Practice, practice I guess.

105, F14, AC680 MAC VC, 23.41, three more to Darwin

107, F14, Douglas DC-3, 27.59, Fuel 45 gallons

110, F14, PBY5  VR-HDT, 30.26, Much as for F13.  Landing roll was extended simply to get close to the time.

002, F15, AC680, 40.27, LANDING SPD 66.81 KIAS -95 FPM

006, F15, Beechcraft D18S, 38.19, Oh yeah, getting close to Darwin.  The old Beech has held up well despite my bouncing touchdowns early on.

009, F15, DC3, 46.50, Very difficult to hit the numbers. Two to go....

015, F15, Beechcraft D18s, 37.01, Bought a camera at the last stop.  Gonna take a pic real soon.  I have to read the manual first!!!!!!

023, F15, Cessna182, 53.80, Close, but no guitar. Two more chances though.

025, F15, GA Monospar ST25 Universal, 67.37, Fuel 11.0 galons.

026, F15, CESSNA 172, 57.77, Less turbulence due to smoother wind changes made this flight a lot better to handle or my capabilities of flying spanish have improved.

028, F15, Corsair F_4U, 38.91, No fuel here either. What do Aussies do for fuel? I think I will have enough to complete the last flight but this is going to be real close.

037, F15, DC3, 45.97, Two more then fireworks, booze and BBQ. What an  enjoyable GAAR this has been, for me!

046, F15, Douglas DC-3, 46.30, Flown at 4500ft - Straight in approach at destination - Doing my best to match the scheduled time, but not that easy !!!

059, F15, Douglas DC3 Dakota, 41.75, Way out on the time again, mainly due to having to manouver from downwind for the landing.

077, F15, Spartan Executive, 41.66, Nice tail wind, so arrived with plenty of time in hand. Interestingly 9m out the tail wind moved to a crosswind for landing!! Someone is testing us.

082, F15, C47, 49.96, I think I have enough fuel for the run to Darwin. I think I'll get a drum or two on standby at Bathurst. Might even taketime out for a run around the race track in a Holden. But I'll have to fire the Xbox up for that one. I'm drifting beween a virtual and real world, help I don't know where I am.

092, F15, DC3, 51.28, Enjoyed this flight, plane is doing what I want it do (finally)

093, F15, Ryan Navion, 46.08, Landing 62.87 kias -114 fpm

098, f15, dh Devon, 50.10, Sorry about late reports. Lots going on tried to sloww flights down so i don't end up putting in  too many orbits and did not plan on go arounds for cr*p approach

101, F15, Hawker Sea Hurricane Ib, 40.77, Arrived early, so I did a lazy left turn until back on approach line. Did the job. A better landing this time.

104, F15, Fairchild C-123B, 42.35, Landing: 95.51 KIAS, -258 FPM

105, F15, AC680 MAC VC, 40.12, very close to the estimated time, have been forcing the old lady to perform but now my number two engine had starte to stutter and puff, hope to finish well. Only two more to Darwin

107, F15, Douglas DC-3, 46.98, Fuel 77 gallons

110, F15, PBY5  VR-HDT, 52.51, Really getting into the groove or the third time in a row lucky.  A wise man once said "practice makes perfect."
