177, 20, DC-3, 92, And another thoroughly enjoyable rally comes to an end.  Thanks Bill, Tom and company for a great job organizing GAAR 2006.  See you when GAAR 2007 comes around.  Now I just need to find the nearest pub and quench this thirst.

003, 20, D.H.104 Dove , 91, And so to bed. Congrats on an excellent job Bill.

163, 20, Avro Lancastrian, 67, A low level run at high power for the fun of it. Thanks to all the team.

153, 20, Cessna Centurion, 67, Finally done

164, 20, DC-3, 112, Quite a bit off course whilst out of range of the NBDs - winds don't seem to have been quite as forecast (or I stuffed up my vector calculation).

176, 20, DC3, 94, Toughest one to spot landing area. Had a real good time doing my first rally. Judging from my scores I will need more practice. Thanks Bill and everyone. See you next time.

007, 20, Douglas DC3, 98, All done! Great Rally. Many thanks to all who made it possible. All being well I will be here next year, hopefully with better scores!

126, 20, Beech T-34B Mentor, 90, I want to thank Bluegrass for a wonderful GAAR 2006. It has been fun and challenging, especially with no autopilot or GPS. Nice going Bluegrass, and thank you...

143, 20, DC-3, 91, Back were we started.  This was a fun event and thanks to Bill Von Sennet and the organizers.

062, 20, de Havilland D.H.104 Dove, 78, so this was it. Thanks Bill and all who organized the rally, I enjoyed every minute of it!

162, 20, DC-3, 106, Dep rwy 04, Alt 5,500 ft, Arr rwy 17, missed approach (too hogh for safe landing) and traffic pattern. Thanks a lot for a grat adventure, I loved to fly in you beautiful country.

101, 20, DC3, 105, Another GAAR comes to an end.

173, 20, Spartan Executive 7w, 88, Done!

039, 20, DC-3, 116, What a way to finish!  Out on RWY 14 up to 3500.  Followed 169 util I heard MPA.  Flew straight toward MPA dropping to 1000 ft.  Dropped landing gear and lowered flaps.  Flew at 100 IAS and spotted that doggone strip on the 1st try.  (Hey even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while)  Came in on RWY 17.  Got her down and stopped before hitting the homes at the end of the runway.  Wheeee!!!!!!

049, 20, de Havilland DHC-3 Otter, 104, Fuel 450 lbs. Thanks Bill

032, 20, B-25J, 68, last leg of this years GAAR, want to thank all who participated and a special thanks to Bill, Tom and anyone else that helped make this event possible.

061, 20, VEGA 5B, 109, What a rotten way to end this series,I was overhead Minnipa looking for this obscure airfield when the host disconnected me.   Not good, then my IP got in the act and dropped me offline as well.  Anyway I have enjoyed flying this series of flights and look forward to doing it again sometime, but in a different aircraft.

127, 20, Beech Twin Bonanza, 84, Drifted too far East somehow...no problem spotting the field once I was back on track.

124, 20, Douglas DC-3, 94, Departure YCBP rwy 14, cruising at 5500ft, landing at YMPA rwy 17, straight in approach. It was already dusk at destination, but fortunately could manage to land more or less on the runway, understand hangers at the left, and windsock at the right.

145, 20, de Havilland DH-104 Dove, 81, thanks for a terrific GAAR 2006, back to the Motherland!!!

119, 20, Beech D18S, 100, I have enjoyed it a lot, thanks Bill.

135, 20, Dove, 84, Well here we are back at the start.

055, 20, Lockheed Electra L-10A, 84, Lots of Fun!

001, 20, DC-3, 93, 158 gal  The flagship has returned to Minnipa.   Thanks to everyone for joining in on the adventure.

004, 20, Cessna 310, 64, Final Leg! I messed up the scenery for the final flight unfortunately. I had "unvozed" the areas I had already flown in and thought I had left the southern region intact. Lake Gairdner wasn't there, no nice landscape and there was no rwy at YMPA. Oh well.

084, 20, Lockheed Vega 5C, 105, Missed approach the first time, then a very fast and steep landing. Crack a tube!

066, 20, Vought Corsair.F4U-7, 56, Thanks Bill,I enyoje the Gaar2006 Tour.

112, 20, pby catalina, 127, Home !!

040, 20, P-38 Lightning, 50, Well Blimey, I found a way to drink and finish....Ain't gonna tell me mates about all the adventures out here with the sheilas, but I hope nottin falls off.  My hats off to the Blugrass boys..They be welcome any time into Deer Valley.  Ok Ok the details....Wait.....On more good guzzle......ahhhhhhhhh

154, 20, C-195, 89, Well, I guess it is over, Hit some kind of dust storm taking off at Boober PEDY, I used the VOZ scenery and the weather was quite different than what was described. This sure has been fun and educational, was fun flying with just VOR's and NDB's, although I had to fly around a couple of fields to find them. Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. Need to do this again sometime. Fun, Fun, Fun. See you all on line.

139, 20, DC-3, 100, A lovely set of flights, thankyou for the opportunity to participate. I may try a different plane next year

166, 20, DC3, 87, Thanks Bill, for the terrific experience. I have now a great appreciation for DC3's and other similar aged craft.  I feel my navigation and flying ability has improved as a result.

024, 20, DC3, 94, Thank you Captain Bill for the rally I injoyed very much.bgad023.

155, 20, Cessna O-1G Bird Dog, 134, Alas, another GAAR comes to an end... time to start planning for GAAR2007. :)

018, 20, Curtiss C46, 87, We made it. Came out of the haze right in line with the runway. Touch down and its all over. Now for some R&R. Wipe the bugs off the windshield and call it a day.

017, 20, GA Monospar ST-10, 144, The end of another great GAAR. The drift sight and stopwatches were in heavy demand but we hit off the MTP 167deg radial ok. We were well ahead of time so elected to fly a circuit to make sure of the wind - just as well as somehow or other we never saw the runway on the initial approach until it appeared in the drift sight! On the second approach it was lined up from 3 miles out and we finished with a good 3-pointer. Great rally.

103, 20, Spartan Executive 7W, 82, Wow, what a great rally! Was a bit depressed rolling to the shut down after arrival. Always have been too damn sentimental.

077, 20, DHC-3 OTTER, 113, Last leg of a most enjoyable flying experience - pity we didn't get in exactly on time - Minnipa isn't that easy to spot.

170, 20, Douglas DC3, 84, Nice early morning departure from Coober.   Went up to 7500 feet to avoid some turbulence.   Nice easy flight with about 5 degrees drift to port, compensated for which left me right on the Minnipa NDB.   Managed to spot the field well from the air after descending to 2000 feet AGL and straight in approach to runway 17.   What a nice trip!   Will do it again Friday with the guys from British Airways Virtual!

033, 20, Aero Commander 500, 78, Glad to be done!  Had variable winds at 8,500 to make wind drift adjustment interesting.  Enjoyed the GAAR!  Thanks Bill and everyone at Bluegrass who made this possible...  See you all next year.

037, 20, B-25J, 78, Wow!  Hard to see, was almost on top of it before I saw it.,

042, 20, Harvard MkIV, 92, Back to Minnipa.  Been a great rally!  The VOZ scenry is great and I learned a bit more about a fascinating country!  See you all next time.

022, 20, DC-3, 118, Resubmittal to correct error on sector number

014, 20, dc3, 84, And so ends another GAAR event.  Thank you Bill and all those involved in setting this up.

090, 20, C-47B, 87, Thanks Bill and team for a fine set of flights.

105, 20, DH-89a, 123, As I had a couple of minutes to spare, Minnipa airport had a good listen to a pair of Gypsy Queens at full chat.   A good fun event, thanks Bill.

054, 20, Globe Swift, 97, Completed the Great Aussie Rally 2006.

063, 20, DC3, 91, Thanks for the great flying "DOWN UNDER"... See you all again next year.  Now I just need to afford enough fuel to get all the way back to the USA in this ol' Gooney Bird!!!

165, 20, DC3, 88, 13 kt wind on rear quarter this time, pushed us along nicely, slightly ahead of sched. Straight in on rwy 17. Thanks to all the organizers, enjoyed this more than last GAAR.

048, 20, DC3 , 99, Provided good experience in tracking when out of range and crosswinds.

038, 20, DC-3, 97, FULL CIRCLE!! We're back. It was again FUN !!

023, 20, DC3, 95, Flew this final leg of GAAR 2006 in MP mode with 020 and 027.....congratulations and thank you to all who were involved in the organization and the making of this project such a success.....your time and hard work has been noticed and is very much appreciated.  Look forward to next year.

002, 20, DC-3, 95, Great Rally once again.  Thanks to everyone involved in setting up this event.

151, 20, B-25J Mitchell, 76, Really cool rally. Look forward to GAAR07!

150, 20, Douglas DC-3, 109, Home at last. Had to restart the computer during this leg, I left FS paused for about 2 hours, when I came back the screen had gone bonkers. I managed to read the time so all was not lost. Flew straight in and had my best landing. No problem with the navigation. (Thanks for the timer Tom, it helped on this one as I forgot to start my other timers).

158, 20, de Havilland D.H.104 Dove, 85, Many thanks to Bill and all his helpers, who made this rally one of the best.

013, 20, DC-3, 118, Another great GAAR event. Thanks again Bluegrassairlines! - See ya next year

008, 20, DC3-Hawk's, 96, Completed my third and most enjoyable GAAR - thanks and congrats to all responsible - I dedicate this GAAR to the memory of DV36 Robert Hawk, RIP.

043, 20, DC-3, 98, Thanks for a most enjoyable series of flights.  Thanks also to Bill Von Sennet for his patience and persistence in dealing with the various difficulties associated with scoring such an event!!

031, 20, DC-3, 107, Back to Minnipa, starting point of GAAR-06.

136, 20, Lockheed Electra L-10A, 105, Difficult to find this strip but easier from the 35 end. Very sincere thanks for letting me fly your rally, very challenging, somewhat rusty at the start but improved as I went on. Hope you do the same again next year. Cheers !

130, 20, DC-3, 94, Great Rally!  Thanks Bill.

092, 20, DC3, 105, A Navigation error near Minnipa resulted in a 360 to get back on the correct course. IT FEELS GOOD TO FINISH THE GAAR2006. Hope everyone had a nice GAAR this year.

010, 20, Douglas DC-3, 72, Thanks for an outstanding event! I really appreciate all the hard work you have put into it. I am looking forward to GAAR 2007!

140, 20, F9F-5 Panther, 49, Hate to see it end, most enjoyment i've had with the simulator. Hope i will be around for the next one. Good Luck Everone,an Keep them FLYING. GAAR #140

094, 20, DC-3, 103, No problems seeing the runway, and made a very smooth landing. Well, that was all jolly good fun - we're off to find a pub and drink to the next rally!

026, 20, dc4, 65, Missed it! Got in at the second attempt.

058, 20, DC-3, 102, great stuff. Thanks toBill Vons and all who helped in this annual event.

044, , 20, C-45 USAF, 85, Your notes were a great help but I still had to go around twice before I could figure out the runway.

050, Larry Barker, 20, DC-3, 120, Weather w/ATC

Sector 19

173, 19, Spartan Executive 7w, 112, one to go

039, 19, DC-3, 154, Up to 4500.  Was glad to hear CBP.  Followed it in and still had troubles finding that strip.

055, 19, Lockheed Electra L-10A, 119, Still haven't seen the rock

162, 19, DC-3, 128, Dep rwy 13, Alt 7,500 ft, Arr Rwy 04 with downwind entry to traffic pattern. Visibility at destination lower than forecasted, it was about 5 SM.

052, 19, Spartan, 107, Good view of the rock 8 mins out on the starboard side. Slight trouble spotting the field made me a bit late.

061, 19, VEGA 5B, 134, Departed rwy 13 set course 135* made shallow enroute climb to 7500' reasonable flying at this altitude.   Landed 04 at YCBP and turned off rwy for parking by 1305.   Burnt 73 gallons for the trip.

003, 19, D.H.104 Dove , 117, A long leg, but it should put us back in the target bracket after getting the target time wrong on 11.

163, 19, Avro Lancastrian, 85, New joystick arrived, now it waggles in all the right axes again.

126, 19, Beech T-34B Mentor, 124, Ulhara (Ayers Rock) was impressive...

040, 19, P-38 Lightning, 67, Whoa there on the tailwind!!  Out of YAYE via 13 and up to 7500' for the cruise.  Nice puffy clouds to bust all the way there.  Arrived into YCBP via 4 and taxied to the parking area. Gonna give the bird and rest for the Grand Finale Final Leg.  Probably will have a few consumables on board for that one.

160, 19, dh dove, 111, Got in to r'way (if it can be called that!) 22 a little early, which makes a change.

032, 19, B-25J, 89, flew at 7500', winds were pretty steady from the SW so having no navaids for many miles was no problem, vis got bad on approach to rwy 14 but I spotted the field about 3 miles out, landed straight ahead on rwy 14 and taxied to parking.

145, 19, de Havilland DH-104 Dove, 102,

049, 19, de Havilland DHC-3 Otter, 131, fuel 656 lbs. 3--7-06 0708 hrs.

030, 19, DHC-2, 148, Long time in the air in a Beaver.

007, 19, Douglas DC3, 127, One to go. Been a great rally so far, learned a lot. Now all I have to do is find Minnipa!

124, 19, Douglas DC-3, 118, Departure YAYE rwy 13, flown at 7500ft with heavy crosswinds, short field landing at YCBP rwy 14

117, 19, Spartan Executive 7W, 103, Piece of cake!

154, 19, C-195, 140, Wow what a beautiful day to start out, then at Coober that old Aussie fog rolled in and made landing a little more challenging, can't wait for the next one, still having fun

143, 19, DC-3, 114, Coober Pedy airport difficult to spot.  Thank the stars for Coober NDB

112, 19, pby catalina, 154, one to go !!!!!

166, 19, DC3, 114, Long flight with only red dirt to look at.  I hope the crew at Minnipa can get all this red dust out of the bird.

004, 19, Cessna 310, 79, No problems with the timer on this flight. Winds were not too bad at 15kts and scattered clouds at 8000 to 10000. Encountered some nasty 25kt crosswinds on approach though but squeaked a centerline landing with a little prayer, lol.

084, 19, Lockheed Vega 5C, 126, Decided to fly at dusk, to see pretty views of Ayers Rock - thus making landing really hard as visibility was much worse than advertised.

077, 19, DHC_3 OTTER, 147, Couldn't resist a fly around Ayers Rock before we got on our way. Then treated the team to a good look at Oz by flying at 500 ft AGL all the way to Coober. Still arrived early, so had to stooge around before touchdown.

018, 19, Curtiss C46, 108, That has to be the longest flight Ive been on. Had a severe crosswind on final 22 into Coober Pedy. Some Caravan hotdogged it in front of me and beat me on the approach, There was a bit of pucker time with her in front of me cause I came in faster then normal. We basically touched down within seconds of each other.

135, 19, Dove, 107, Hi, Silly mistakes at the end, spotted the airport (luckily) decided to land on 22 and turned too quickly missing the approach, had to find it again and put it down on 04

033, 19, Aero Commander 500, 100, Nice view of Ayers Rock during departure. Climbed to find a good tail wind. Corrected for wind drift and then spent most of the flight out of range of navaids. Coober Pedy had low visibility. Landed runway 14.

017, 19, GA Monospar ST-10, 188, Not much in the way of radio navaids, so planned a course using Ernabella (YERN), Indulkana (YIDK), Marla (YALA), and Cadney Park (YCDH) as VRPs. Marla turned out to be on a high mesa (must sort that out!). pleasant run with excellent visibility for most of it.

170, 19, Douglas DC3, 108, Late afternoon departure from Ayers Rock with the sun beginning to sink.   Very nice flight with well broken cloud.   Got the drift angle right since I arrived into Coober airspace with the ADF active right in front of me!   Great pictures taken enroute.   Discovered that the Pilot Controlled Lighting did not work and just managed to land visually as it got dark!  Couple of nights here then back to Minnipa and the end of the Rally in a few days time.

014, 19, dc3, 112, Long flight

105, 19, DH-89a, 160, Stayed low and the wids were stable. Got the drift sorted out and the Coober Pedy NDB came up right on time and almost on the nose, very satisfying.

054, 19, Globe Swift, 124, slight tail wind

042, 19, Harvard MkIV, 121, Hardest sector yet.  Long way and nothing to time by once the DME goes out...  (Oh and by the way, landing with gear up really, really ruins the paint job on the underside.)

038, 19, DC-3, 134, Long flight over... nothing?

151, 19, B-25J Mitchell, 101, Nice view of the rock on takeoff!

165, 19, DC3, 115, Compensating for 15 kt xwind (again). Got up the nerve to load in VOZ scenery, nice package. Should have done it earlier

020, 19, DC-3, 131, That was an exiting flight.

023, 19, DC3, 132, Flew in MP mode with 020 and 027....great company to fly with.

150, 19, Douglas DC-3, 138, A boring trip across the desert (and was it deserted?). Good navigation exercise, drift meter came in handy. Flew at 7500 ft strong side wind. 30 miles out turned left to 130 deg and intercepted rwy 22 then straight in.

013, 19, DC-3, 155, Long sector - nice quiet flight

008, 19, DC3-Hawk's, 125, Brutally long sector

031, 19, DC-3, 138, This flight was one of the longuest of the serie. All OK

092, 19, DC3, 134, Its nice to finally see hills after flying in the desert. I used up my entire auxillary fuel tank and a portion of the mains (3 tanks total not 4) for this flight.

010, 19, Douglas DC-3, 89, Got an awesome tailwind for this flight at 8500 feet! I needed that!

016, 19, DC-3, 126, Flew rt downwind for Rwy 22.  Low clouds, vis poor, 1/4 mile. Turned 90 degrees for VFR approach to rwy 22 when ADF indicated NDB abeam.

078, 19, Convair 240, 95, Tough to find!

094, 19, DC-3, 131, Circled for separation from a Cessna that was also on approach to Coober Pedy.

044, 19, C-45 USAF, 124, Only off by 12 degrees this time

050, 19, DC-3, 126, Weather w/ATC

Sector 18

118, 18, DH-89a Dragon Rapide, 101, Flight delayed due to personal business. Apologies

160, 18, dh dove, 69, Good landing r'way 13, but just had to take off again to fly around the 'rock' that I could see in the distance!

162, 18, DC-3, 79, Dep rwy 12, Alt 6,500 ft, Arr rwy 13 with downwind entry to traffic pattern.

061, 18, VEGA 5B, 90, Had some hazy foggy sort of WX here at the Rock intended landing 31 but finished up making that 13, nice landing with no problems.   Burnt about 43 gallons for the flight.

166, 18, DC3, 70, Due to small following wind, we got to have a closer look at the "Rock". Not very long though and soon got back for landing rwy 13 on time.

004, 18, Cessna 310, 48, Had to refly this one after realizing that somewhere along the route the timer had gone haywire and was counting down from 1400.9, lol. Hate it when that happens.

154, 18, C-195, 112, Total Fuel Used: 274gal.

024, 18, DC3, 83, Held up with traffic on takeoff.landed RW31.

143, 18, DC-3, 79, Nice flight but poor vis for most

032, 18, B-25J, 54, alt 6500', vis was poor until about 20 minutes out of YAYE, then cleared up, made left base to rwy 13

007, 18, Douglas DC3, 80, Weather spot on again, I must be doing something right. Two more to go, Oh dear...

049, 18, de Havilland DHC-3 Otter, 79, fuel 320  lbs 3-5-06, 1014 hrs.

055, 18, Lockheed Electra L-10A, 69, Never did see Ayers Rock - Obsured by low clouds

124, 18, Douglas DC-3, 75, Departed YBAS rwy 12, cruise altitude 6500 to YAYE rwy 13, straight in approach. Pushed a little bit on the throttles to fight the winds

145, 18, de Havilland DH-104 Dove, 75, the rock revisited!

117, 18, Spartan Executive 7W, 63, This leg made with time to buzz the rock before taking 13 to land....but I had to push it. Fun for me, tough on the powerplant.

135, 18, Dove, 66, Great Flight, very hazy, but, good to see Ayers Rock at the end of it

046, 18, Lockheed Electra L-10A, 91,

077, 18, DHC-3 OTTER, 89, Nice view, but no time for a fly-by of the rock, times - a -pressing.

155, 18, Cessna O-1G Bird Dog, 105,

018, 18, Curtiss C46, 64, had to circle Ayers Rock just for the view

033, 18, Aero Commander 500, 63, Climbed to 8,500 but kept descending looking for target ground speed. Ran the Aero Commander hot and fast. Made up a few minutes on this leg.

052, 18, Spartan, 60, Weather was exactly as forecast and once the vis cleared up it was an easy flight.

014, 18, dc3, 82, Certainly was not VFR conditions

084, 18, Lockheed Vega 5C, 92, Surprisingly came in sight of the runway perfectly lined up on base leg. Sheer luck though.

054, 18, Globe Swift, 79, Mixed x-winds

042, 18, Harvard MkIV, 80, Hang ofa Big Rock, Hey!

170, 18, Douglas DC3, 80, Low visibility departure, IFR out of Alice and into the rain!  Up to 8000 feet and no let up.  Finally hit clear weather about 93 miles into the flight and made a good VFR landing into Ayers Rock.

017, 18, GA Monospar ST-10, 117, Rain? At the Alice?? The place is really losing it's character - they tell me The Ghan now usually arrives on the day it's supposed to!

038, 18, DC-3, 79, Good to see the 'Rock' again!

151, 18, B-25J Mitchell, 65, Almost there!

023, 18, DC3, 70, Flew this one solo.

158, 18, de Havilland D.H.104 Dove, 69, Correction, as not sure if I emailed sector 18 before

150, 18, Douglas DC-3, 92, Turned on to base to land at YAYE a little late, had to make a 360 to come in and land. Managed to make the strip ok. Good navigation exercise on this leg.

140, 18, F9F-5 Panther, 40, That fun with the storm goofed up the gyro,s so hope there's no IFR conditions rest of the way. wear & tear showing up need tires, and breaks..wonder if they would setup some aressting cables at Coober Pedy ,if not, NOTAM don't park off end of runway Panther will use it all.

Sector 17

032, 17, B-25J, 41, no rain but vis was terrible, good thing I was able to make an instrument approach on rwy 12.

040, 17, P-38 Lightning, 32, Bit late on the filing here boss.  Sorry about that.  I owe you a drink at the lounge.

032, 17, B-25J, 41, Sure thankful for the navaids here, landed ILS rwy 12, no rain but the vis was terrible.

176, 17, DC3, 65, Will some please pick up my landing gear off the runway. Too fast an approach and did not see the runway till too late. Rain and fog. Redone sector.

112, 17, pby catalina, 140, bad weather bad viz  but managed

004, 17, Cessna 310, 39, Just three more to go. The MacDonnell Range was a nice change from the Simpson Desert.

154, 17, C-195, 90, Fuel Used:  228gal.

166, 17, DC3, 54, Great navigation exercise in DC3 (No DME gauge). Needed to use the NDB's WAY, SPG, TPB and AS to track into RWY12.

007, 17, Douglas DC3, 65, Only three more to go. Damn!!

160, 17, dh dove, 55, Rain?

049, 17, de Havilland DHC-3 Otter, 57, Fuel 255 lbs. 03-03-06 1147 hrs.

162, 17, DC-3, 63, Dep rwy 32, Alt 6,500 ft, Arr rwy 12 with crosswind entry to traffic pattern.

030, 17, DHC-276, 76, Rev  ILS to stay out of the mountains

124, 17, Douglas DC-3, 60, Departure YJVS rwy 14, cruising at 6500ft, and heading to TPB to catch YBAS ILS rwy 12

061, 17, VEGA 5B, 67, Low visibility destination made this flight stressful while waiting for the runway lights to appear in the last five miles, especially so when my only navaid is my aircraft's compass.

145, 17, de Havilland DH-104 Dove, 61, uneventfull flight, some showers enroute

126, 17, Beech T-34B Mentor, 55, Nice with great approach to Alice Springs. Turbulent from about 43 nm out.

143, 17, DC-3, 64, Misty on descent and approach

052, 17, Spartan, 45, Great to see some tarmac again.

001, 17, DC-3, 60, 112 gal

018, 17, Curtiss C46, 50, Gorgeous night flight and landing at Alice Springs. Ill see the sites in the morning before leaving. Cant believe were almost done for another year.041, 17, PBY Catalina, 68,

135, 17, DOVE, 50, Left Jervois with a bumpy take off roll and found Alice Springs without a problem.

061, 17, VEGA 5B, 111, Very difficult strip to eyeball, over flew, did a 180 and still overran the end of RWY 14.   Hope the next remaining sector runways are better defined.

039, 17, DC-3, 68, Up to 2000 and headed toward YBAS.  Thank goodness, a real AP w/NAVAIDS.  Had to climb higher on the way because of high-ground.

077, 17, DHC-3 OTTER, 67, Rain mist, ILS landing, could have stayed at home for weather like that.

015, 17, DC3, 66, landed rwy 12 in blinding rain,good fun

084, 17, Lockheed Vega 5C, 71, Unpleasantly low visibility on this leg.

170, 17, Douglas DC3, 70, Nice sunshine takeoff from YJVS but a bit of a bumpy surface!   Weather got worse as we neared Alice.   Full Instrument VOR approach into runway 12 in very bad visibility with rain showers - which probably cost me the time because of needing to do the full chart approach.  But, hey, I got in!!

038, 17, DC-3, 75, Great flight ending with a 'rare' ILS approach with back-course localizer at Alice.

161, 17, DC-3, 65, Made it, but it wasn't pretty.

014, 16, dc3, 62, YJVS-YBAS worst weather of the Rally made worst by running out of Daylight, landed at YBAS using ILS to locate the runway due to poor conditions.

048, 17, DC3, 87, Really needed the ILS on this one

033, 17, Aero Commander 500, 66, Made an evening flight. Arrived at Alice Springs after dark. Blew my alotted time due to flying the ILS 12 approach with procedure turn. Figured a safe landing was worth the time.

042, 17, Harvard MkIV, 62, Think I blew the timing on this sector...

090, 17, C-47B, 60, Some minor problems with weather and traffic, the airport a little bigger than Jervois!

151, 17, B-25J Mitchell, 49, Foggy day at Alice Springs

023, 17, DC3, 59, Civilization at last....

017, 17, GA Monospar ST-10, 90, Les is going to have to work late tonight as the throttles took rather a lot of hammer on this leg to get near the target time. Lots of cloud, and we never saw the hills around YBAS, so the STAR from the VOR out to Simpsons Gap and back down the ILS to rwy was needed. It wasn't raining at the Alice, but we flew through three showers on the way - hope the Henley-on-Todd Regatta doesn't have to be cancelled!

013, 17, DC-3, 71, Moving soon - trying to keep ahead

008, 17, DC3-Hawk's, 57, hope the vis improves

092, 17, DC3, 65, I think my weather was a little more worse than the foreast. I attempted to fly the ILS by hand. I made it down safely

051, 17, Twin Bonanza, 54, Strong headwind  Rain and poor viz on landing.  What more could you ask for?

140, 17, F9F-5 Panther, 32, might have loaded the weather a little tough on this one, my wife is laugjng at me as i'm leaning in my chair muttering"time to due some Blue Angle STUFF" as a thunderstoem spit me out the bottom inverted.
