
RULES
1.
Entry is open to any person who
wishes to participate and it is not necessary to be a member of a Virtual
Airline.
2.
This is not a race. There aren’t any losers. Everyone who enjoys part or all of the event
is a winner

This adventure is conducted by the

Persons wishing to be listed on the
roster, and to have their flights recorded, must make application using the
form provided in the links on this site. Each pilot will be
allocated an ID number which MUST be quoted on all flight reports and in all
correspondence. Entrants will not
receive confirmation of entry other than their name will be entered onto the
roster.
5.
The adventure is divided into 54
legs. Flight reports will be posted as soon as possible after they
are received.
6.
Pilots may fly any aircraft of choice. It is the responsibility of individual pilots
to ensure that their nominated aircraft is suitable for their use in this
adventure. The shortest runway is 4,198’ at YKMB Karumba.
7.
A separate flight report must be
submitted for each leg. It is imperative that times be
submitted as minutes. For example a
flight of 1hr and 15 min (1:15) should be submitted as 75 (Just the number, no decimals or alpha
characters)
8.
The roster will be updated as often
as possible. However, the organizers do
not guarantee any updates will be applied at any particular time.
9.
Pilots may submit screenshots in .jpg
format. Try to limit filesize
to about 70k (I
use irfanview to
resize to 900 wide and save with 50% quality).
The filename should include the date (format ymoda)
and be relevant to the description of the picture. Also include your gaar pilots ID#. For example a screenshot for leg 1 might me
named 50201_Hobart_take_off_gaar001.jpg.
You might also want to use “paint” to add a caption to the image. Images deemed by the organizers to be of
general interest will be included on the

The organizers have provided a pilots
forum where pilots participating in this adventure may leave comments, messages
etc., for other pilots and generally discuss their progress in the
race. This facility is not provided as a means for posting messages
to the organizers however bragging about
performance and participation issues at the expense of other competitors is not
only allowed but expected. Messages from the organizers may be posted on the forum.
11.
This event is intended purely as a
fun event for all participants. There is no obligation legal or
otherwise on the part of the organizers to conduct this event to its
conclusion. The organizers cannot be held responsible for any
matter or thing which may arise from the conduct of this event.
12.
The decision of the Rally Director or
his nominee on any matter concerning this event is absolutely final and no
correspondence or other communication will be entered into.
13.
Time is to be recorded from “brakes
release” to “brakes set” at the parking areas listed on the “Sector Briefing
Page”
14.
You may use “real weather” at your
discretion.
15.
Flight Reports are made via the
“Flight Report” link. The “real-time”
reporting system is still under construction, but will be ready by February 1st,
2005
