Bluegrass Airlines – February 2003

Bluegrass Airlines Pilots take note:  The Division Directors have agreed that you may substitute

Feature of the Month Flights for your 2 required flights in your home division.

As always report all of your flights to your division.  They will pass them on to the other divisions as visitor hours.

Boeing Aircraft built the  Boeing 247 which was very popular with airlines and passengers.

TWA wanted to buy them, but Boeing which was part of the United Airlines group,

refused to sell them. So TWA contacted Donald Douglas about a new airliner.  The result

was the DC-2 the forerunner of the DC-3.    Click the link below to download FS2002

For an image of the complete eastbound and westbound schedule

that you can print out click here.

If you have flown the TAT Route, you can see that in a few short years,

this schedule represents a quantum leap in aviation.  In 1929 passenger

airliners were not permitted to fly over the Allegheny Mountains in darkness.

In 1935 aircraft were faster, and navigation beacons permitted round the clock flights.

For FS2002 use the TAT route airport download for airports from Columbus to Los Angeles.

The New York Airport was Newark, NJ, Pittsburgh was Allegheny County KAGC.

The 1935 Philadelphia Airport was Camden Central Airport across the river from Philadelphia.

Download kcam.zip here.   Thanks to Del Hopkins for supplying the airport for us.
