Turboprops are small turbine engines (like a small jet) that are connected to a prop via shafts and planetary gear systems.
Basically they are just another power source for the props.
Jets are large size turbine engines that do not utilize any other means of propulsion other than their own exhaust thrust.Over the years there have been many improvements in the systems ( fuel, hydraulics, electric etc ) and many different makes and models.
Jet engines have been proven to be more fuel efficient and push the aircraft to faster speeds and higher alttitudes therefore making them more cost effective for airline companies.
Our goal here is to bring you the early aircraft of both the turbos and the Jets at a time when transportation was entering into a new era.
