DOUGLAS C-133 CHECKLIST

Special Pull-down Items: shift+2 Frequencies, 
shift+3 Switches, shift+4 Weight & CG,
shift+5 Turn Data, shift+6 Landing Gauge 

STARTING CHECKLIST
0>Check payload weight (Aircraft menu) before adding fuel.
1>Add no more fuel than the limit shown for the payload.
2>Hold Shift and tap 3 to see starting switches.
3>Use Ctrl-E for the starting sequence.
4>After the engines start, set all gen switches to ON.
5>Set Avionics switch ON.
6>Run engines until oil temp reaches 29C.

Takeoff Checklist
0>Check all instruments. Check weight <= 286,000 lbs.
    (Use shift+3 to see weight and CG.)
1>Set flaps at 20 degrees. Check 10 < CG < 36%.
2>Set trim at 14 degrees.
3>Set throttle to 100% position. 
4>Rotate at V2-10 and lift off at V2.
5>Adjust pitch attitude to about 15 degrees nose-up.
6>Retract gear when climbing. 
7>At 160 knots, retract flaps (F6) and accelerate 
  to 180-200 KIAS for climb.

Climb Checklist
0>Maintain 180-200 KIAS. Use 90% throttle.
1>Use autopliot in HDG and ALT modes setting climb rate.
2>Climb at 1500 fpm to 9,000 ft.
3>Climb at 1200 fpm to 16,000 ft. 
4>Climb at 1000 fpm to 21,000 ft.
5>Climb at 800 fpm to 29,000 ft.
  Set 100% throttle.

Cruise Checklist
0>Establish level flight at 10k to 29k.
1>Use autopilot in HDG and ALT modes.
2>Set 60% thrust (1718 pph per engine).
3>For max range use 29,000 ft  and 55% thrust.
4>Max airspeed in turbulance is 210 KIAS.

Descent Checklist
0>Reduce power in stages: 40%, 20%.
1>Use Autopilot in HDG and ALT mode setting 
altitude 4000-5000 ft AGLand rate at -1500.
2>Keep airspeed below 280 KIAS (VMO).
3>Max airspeed in turbulance is 210 KIAS (VA).

Approach Checklist
0>Make sure weight is below 235,000 lb for landing.
1>Extend gear at 200 KIAS.
2>Extend flaps at 180 KIAS.
3>Set flaps at 10 deg and establish level flight at 40% thrust.
4>Turn ON landing lights. Turn OFF autopilot.

Landing Checklist
0>When ready for final approach, set flaps at 2nd notch and check gear down (G).
1>Begin approach at 150 KIAS. Set 20 degrees flaps and 140 KIAS during decsent. 
2>Slow to Vref with full flaps on short final. Use power to stay on glide slope.
3>Cut power just at flare.
4>After touchdown, lower nose gently and apply reverse thrust.
5>Use wheel braking when nose gear touches. At 35 knots, cancel reverse thrust.
6>Turn Off strobe and landing lights before shut down.
